Frequently Asked
Questions

Everything you need to know about ordering MCC buckets. Can't find your answer? Call us at 307-442-0382.

Ordering & Lead Times

How long does it take to build an MCC bucket?

Standard configurations ship in 3-5 business days. Complex custom builds or obsolete replacements typically take 2-3 weeks. If you're in a rush, we offer expedited 1-2 day builds with overnight shipping. Call 307-442-0382 to discuss.

Can you expedite my order?

Yes. We offer rush builds with 1-2 day turnaround for an additional fee. Combined with overnight shipping, you can have your bucket in hand within a few days. Rush orders are scheduled based on shop capacity, so call us to confirm availability before ordering.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No minimum. We build single buckets all the time. That said, if you're ordering multiple buckets, call us for volume pricing. We offer discounts on larger orders.

Can I change my order after placing it?

If we haven't started production yet, usually yes. Call us immediately if you need to make changes. Once a bucket is in production, modifications may not be possible without starting over.

Pricing & Payment

What affects the price of an MCC bucket?

Price depends on: bucket size (height), amperage rating, breaker vs. fused disconnect, AIC rating, and whether you want reconditioned or new surplus components. Use our online configurator for instant pricing, or call for custom quotes.

What's the difference between reconditioned and new surplus?

Reconditioned components are professionally restored used parts that have been cleaned, tested, and certified to meet factory specifications. New surplus components are brand new and never installed, typically manufacturer overstock at below-retail prices. Both carry our full 1-year warranty.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) processed securely through Stripe. For larger orders, we can arrange wire transfer or company checks with approved credit.

How do I get a quote for a custom build?

Call us at 307-442-0382 or email sales@mccdepot.com with your specifications. Include photos if you're replacing an existing bucket. We typically respond with quotes within a few hours during business hours.

Warranty & Returns

What warranty do you offer?

Every bucket ships with a full 1-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. If something fails due to a manufacturing defect within a year, we repair or replace it at no charge.

What's not covered by the warranty?

Warranty doesn't cover damage from misuse, improper installation, modifications you make after delivery, or normal wear and tear. It also doesn't cover damage from operating outside the rated specifications (wrong voltage, overloading, etc.).

Can I return a bucket if it doesn't work for my application?

Because buckets are built to order, we can't accept returns for change of mind. However, if we built something wrong or it doesn't match what you ordered, we'll make it right. Verify your specifications carefully before ordering.

What if my bucket arrives damaged or defective?

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage. For shipping damage, document everything before signing the delivery receipt if possible. We'll work with the carrier to file a claim and ship you a replacement.

Shipping & Delivery

How much does shipping cost?

Ground shipping is FREE to the continental US on all standard orders. Overnight/expedited shipping is available for an additional charge calculated at checkout based on your location and order size.

How long does shipping take?

Ground shipping takes 5-7 business days after your bucket is built. Total time from order to delivery is typically 8-12 business days for standard builds. Overnight shipping delivers the next business day after build completion.

Who ships the buckets?

We ship via UPS Ground or FedEx Ground for standard orders, and UPS Next Day Air for expedited shipping. You'll receive tracking information via email once your order ships.

Do you ship internationally?

We primarily serve the United States. We have shipped to Canada and Mexico on occasion. Call us to discuss international orders and shipping requirements.

MCC Identification

How do I identify what type of MCC bucket I have?

Check the nameplate on your MCC structure, usually on the main door or side panel. It shows the manufacturer and model. If the nameplate is missing, take photos of the handle mechanism and door. We can usually identify it from those. See our Bucket Identification Guide for visual references.

What bucket dimensions do I need?

Measure the height of the available space in your MCC where the bucket goes. Standard heights are 6", 12", 18", 24", 36", and 48". Width is typically 20" standard. If you're replacing an existing bucket, measure it directly.

My MCC is obsolete. Can you still build buckets for it?

Yes, this is our specialty. We build replacement buckets for discontinued equipment from the 1950s to today. Send us photos and measurements, and we'll design a drop-in replacement using modern components that fit your legacy enclosure.

I'm not sure what I need. Can you help?

Absolutely. Call us at 307-442-0382 or email photos to sales@mccdepot.com. We've been identifying and building MCC buckets for 15 years. Tell us what you're trying to accomplish and we'll help you figure out the right solution.

Technical Questions

Should I choose breaker or fused disconnect?

Both work. Circuit breakers are resettable after a trip, which is convenient for nuisance trips. Fusible disconnects cost less upfront but require fuse replacement after a fault. Your existing MCC probably dictates the choice, but either can be configured for most applications.

What AIC rating do I need?

AIC (Ampere Interrupting Capacity) must equal or exceed the available fault current at your installation point. Check your facility's arc flash study or short circuit analysis. When in doubt, go higher. 35k AIC covers most light industrial applications, 65k or 100k for heavier industrial.

What voltages do you support?

Standard options are 480V, 240V, and 208V. 600V is available for specific configurations. Control voltage (for contactors, pilot lights, etc.) is typically 120V but can be configured for 24V or other requirements.

Can you wire to my custom schematic?

Yes. Send us your control schematic and we'll wire the bucket exactly to your specifications. We can also design custom control schemes if you tell us what the bucket needs to do: start/stop, auto/manual, reversing, two-speed, etc.

Are your buckets UL listed?

Our facility is UL 508 certified for industrial control panel manufacturing. Every bucket ships with a UL label confirming it meets safety and performance standards. We also build to NEC and NEMA standards.
